PAIN MANAGEMENT

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Physical therapy can be an excellent treatment for those who experience pain especially when that pain is acute, severe, or chronic.

For those with chronic or severe pain, the constant distress and discomfort can feel unending. Whether the pain is the result of a car accident, a sports injury, a chronic condition, or has appeared without explanation, you just want it to end and physical therapy can assist in that process.

Pain is often what leads our clients to schedule an appointment and with good reason: As the United States grapples with the opioid epidemic, physical therapy remains a recommended alternative to using opioids to manage pain according to the Center For Disease Control.

Dr. Ariyo and our team of physical therapists are experienced in treating a variety of chronic pain and severe pain-related conditions. Physical therapy allows them to treat the excruciating conditions at their origin and to identify any factors that might be contributing to the pain in the first place.

This approach allows us to provide comprehensive pain treatment, not simply a momentary period of relief. Treating conditions like this at the source is what separates physical therapy from other pain-related treatments that only address symptoms: Physical therapy, when provided by experienced professionals, offers a sustainable source of pain management and pain relief.

Physical therapy for pain management includes a thorough evaluation and the creation of a treatment plan that includes certain exercises to increase mobility and reduce your experience of pain. The exact approaches and exercises used in your treatment will be unique to you with respect to your current experience of pain, your current level of mobility, and your personal medical history.

As pain and movement experts, our team will take the time to talk to you about your treatment options and we’ll be here to support your pain management process so you can begin to feel better sooner.
